Rooted in Christ, Forming Faithful Educators Together

Since its founding, Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) has affirmed that education is a sacred calling under the lordship of Christ. Faculty and co-curricular educators are entrusted with modeling Christian faithfulness in intellectual life and helping students understand who God is and who they are created to be.

Across Christian higher education, many educators desire to live out this calling but lack sustained formation, theological grounding, or institutional space for reflection. This is especially true for those whose academic formation occurred in environments where faith and scholarship were divided rather than integrated.

The Center for Faith and Learning exists to address this need by creating space for prayerful reflection, theological conversation, and faithful engagement with Scripture and Christian tradition. The Center connects newer faculty with seasoned educators and fosters shared reflection across disciplines, ordering academic life toward Christ and His purposes.

Continuing Christ’s Work Through Faithful Faculty Formation

The Center builds upon earlier initiatives while focusing specifically on the formation of IWU faculty and educators. Startup funding provided through Momentum reflects the university’s conviction that integrating faith and learning under the authority of Christ is essential to its mission.

As the Center grows, it represents a sustained investment in Christ-centered education and a meaningful opportunity to support the formation of Christian educators who serve both the Church and the world.
